Well, what can I say! I've just come back from a week at Ratcliffe without 'net access (left me dongle in the house )and found this thread. You lot are great. I really don't know what to say. The problem it I don't know when anything could be done. Looking at my shift rota I'm all over the place next week, Dungeness the week after, Scotland for 2 weeks after that then I've got 2 weeks holiday in Somerset with the family. After that I don't know where I'll be yet but I know we've got a lot of work over Suffolk way coming up. The CF is parked on drive next to the house here in 'Lovely' Pontypridd (12 miles north of Cardiff, S.Wales). The only time I'm likely to have free time is towards the winter and we know what Welsh weather is like

If we've got a few months to get organised then I'll be able to book out a week for sure from the slave job - need to get the request in at least a month in advance - & a gazebo with side panels should be enough to keep the weather off a working area (Big Hint if anyone has got one to lend).

Also, I'd like to do this one completely for free; perhaps I should explain & maybe answer some unspoken questions... 'fess up time

My time comes free when it's a CF-Uker that's stuck as several members now know & although I can run a motor on the cheap & get a lot of use out of it myself I've been having to ask for petrol money because the slave job that allows me the time to be rolling around in puddles under CFs only just pays the bills. People have been generous though &, along with proceeds from paying work that comes my way, I've managed to end up back in a van with the wherewithal for mending CFs wherever they are. Working out of the boot of a car is so slow & drying out kit that has been rained on (or snowed on!) has been driving me daft...

Anyway, said van is almost at the end of costing every penny I've had in getting it usable & there's not much kit that I haven't got now for mending just about anything on a CF (& also habitation with woodworking kit I have anyway). Give me a few months & bits of paying work that are coming my way now I'll not be so skint & Pontypridd here I come.

Would the "club marquee" be feasible/available?

Heh. If I had the room then a caravan would be very useful.

It would be a bridge too far: as well as the CF there's a Peugeot waiting to be finished for MoT test and much messing with building works to be done once I can move the car well out of the way so another project wouldn't get a look-in for ages.

Would it be safe to leave it on the site in Rossendale that you found?

It wouldn't be sensible: to fit my foreseeable plans it'd have to survive a Rossendale winter as well as summer (warm & wet as opposed to cold & wet). Also, it could impose a little too much on growing friendship with the owner of the site who already is bending over backwards to make a Scout camp there possible late August including providing a Portaloo for free.

Right keeping this thread on course .

Just to let you know that I have been offered a workshop in the Shrewsbury area with electrics and its dry by Solar John so we can get Colin's Beddy back on the road.

Now all we need is a list off Colin as what needs to be done to his Beddy.

Then we can arrange to get her transported to John's workshop to get this sorted.

I am not physically able to do much but would be more than happy to donate a little bit to any fund to help out.
Hope this may be of use.
